Taste Test: Cop Kid creates an instant electro-pop bop with ‘Give You Up’
The Utah-based duo explores the feeling of loneliness

Cop Kid makes an instant impression – I’ve never quite heard anything like them before. They combine synthy electro-pop vibes with raw, natural vocals. The duo consists of former self-described “frenemies”, Boone and Marny. Boone produces the music, whilst Marny is the singer. “Trying so hard not to think too much/Being alone isn’t as fun as I thought it was” Marny confesses. Cop Kid describe their inspiration as between Sonic the Hedgehog soundtracks and post-internet pop. Despite their electronic inspiration and professional production, Cop Kid still has a self-produced bedroom charm to it that draws you in and makes you smile.
