With “Caramel,” a smoky, moody setpiece, Teni Rane regales a tale about love and that first tangy sweetness that invigorates the body and shakes you to the core. “Full moon fall night – I can feel our heartbeats mingled in this whiskey glow / In this waxing light, the feeling’s growing clearer / Are you gonna let it show?” she muses over skin-grafting instruments that seem to haunt even the most nightmarish dreams.
