Taste Test: The Northern Belle spread rose-cheeked cheer with ‘(Dim Down) the Christmas Lights’
The Americana group release their first Christmas song.

Holiday season is certainly gonna look and feel different this year. On the back of their wildly acclaimed third record (read our review), Americana troupe The Northern Belle unwrap a shiny tinseled tune, their first entry into the Christmas pantheon. Cheery holiday music is always a shot in the dark, and it doesn’t always work ⏤ but “(Dim Down) the Christmas Lights” floods the senses like a warm, frothy glass of eggnog. It’s sweet, romantic, and blissfully soothing. “Let me cut your hair / And comb it back / Let me put on the Beatles,” they sing. They seek a sense of normalcy in their lyrics, and truth be told, we’re all hungry for it.
