Taste Test: The Pierce Project cherish the good with ‘Vanilla Parfait’
The family band give you something to chew on with a new song.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
In times of such anguish and uncertainty, we have to hold the things we love even closer. Family band The Pierce Project ⏤ of Joe, Jimmy, Luke, and Nick Pierce ⏤ do as much with their kitschy, playful new song called “Vanilla Parfait.” Piano twinkles and twirls in the sunlight eminanting from lo-fi electric guitars, warbling and moaning in the distance, and it’s so hypnotic, you’ll be spinning it on loop forever. “Vanilla parfait, carry me away / To the sunny days, and tell me / That you’ll stay for dinner / I’m a winner, what can I say,” they entice you with a succulent melody, dressed to the nines in hazy indie-rock.
“Vanilla Parfait” is ripped from the band’s new album, Song for Emi, out everywhere now.
