Life rarely goes the way you think it should. A recklessness surges through our bodies (a quality we discard as we grow older), and upon looking back, you may regret particular parts of your life. Pop newcomer The Sunshine State (real name Skyler Stonestreet) firmly accepts as much with her glossy new anthem “Things Changed,” yet she allows herself an unfettered path to acceptance. “Run off / For a couple days / Not even thinking bout anyone,” she sings. Production feathers out like gazing through a kaleidoscope. With the visual, Stonestreet embraces the classic grainy filter, as if she’s replaying actual memories form her life through a vintage framework ⏤ images float in and out of view like sun-dipped orbs. It’s perfectly, wonderfully inviting, so much so you’ll like wander back through time yourself.
