“I know life is like a ferris wheel, one day its up and the next its down,” says musician Thom Sawyr. In writing his new song, “Alone Together,” worry was sore on his mind. It’s the kind of harmonica-laden tune that medicates, and regardless of the time, it’s moving and seems to glide as gently as the mid-summer breeze. “It’s a difficult time in a difficult place / Caught in a race, can’t keep up the pace / Wanted to run with nowhere to go / Tossed all my plans out the window,” his voice emerges serene, a woody timbre to ground and reenergize. Things might appear as a sailboat ravaging in a storm, but it’ll soon part and reveal beauty someday. “It’s going to get better,” he promises.
