None of us can make it alone now. The world is a terrible place, and we need support more than ever. Turning to his own network, folk-rock singer-songwriter Thom Sawyr (brainchild of Tasso Smith) stretches his arms into the descending smoke, the fire visible in tiny sparkles, and finds necessary comfort. “I can’t do it by myself,” he sings with a new song called “Help Me Out.” Initially led with acoustic guitar and tambourine, his story escalates as the ground beneath him heaves and rumbles and cracks right down the middle. “Your love will turn a grey sky blue / I’ll try to do the same for you,” he offers his own embrace, as the storm overhead splinters with thunder and lightning.
“Help Me Out” samples Sawyr’s new self-titled EP, out everywhere now.
