Taste Test: Wet Leather flick through emotional ruin with ‘Temporary’
The indie rock band make a long-awaited return ahead of a new mixtape.

Emotional dishevelement lies at the core of indie rock band Wet Leather‘s “Temporary,” their first ounce of new music in over two years. “All my failures made me stranger / Bring my knees to the floor / Could be anyone putting their keys in the door,” the trio bark in unison. The beat trips along a tightrope of electric guitars, swinging and sharp, and the vocals seem to vibrate from the inside out. The lyrics’ exposed nature drives the performance forward, always wobbling right on the crevice.
“Temporary” anchors their new mixtape, Waxworks Vol. 1, coming in January.
