Taste Test: WILD throw their hands in the air with new song, ‘Draw the Line’
The indie band confront a toxic relationship with a new sunny jam.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones.
Emotions are like currency. You can’t give it all away and expect to get by. That’s not how it works. Straddling the line between folk and pop, indie band WILD throw their hands in the air in exasperation. With their song “Draw the Line,” the trio ⏤ of Lauren Luiz (vocals), Tyler Thompson (producer, guitar) and Zach Daegatano(vocals, guitar) ⏤ pull no punches and let a scorned lover have it. Over sunny splashes of instruments, electrifying and contagious, the lyrics spin an emotional tapestry. “Can’t always get what you give / Oh, where I’m standing, I’m empty handed,” they lament. But they don’t linger on the misery; no, in fact, they shed it like they shed a tatter outfit. In its place, they emerge far happier than they could have anticipated. We all could use such a shot of empowerment.
