Taste Test: William Poyer doesn’t find life so ‘Easy’
The folk-rock musician lets his heart tread water on a somber new song.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
On the rare occasion, you’ve just gotta have a six-minute song. William Poyer‘s “Easy” inches its way through every possible motion of existence – from flushed-cheeked romance to unimaginable loss that’ll rend your heart useless. Guitars squirm in ghostly shadows, harkening to such hallowed out emotions as misery and total detachment, and Poyer configures his own journey through the darkness as a universal one of truth and redemption. “It’s easier on your own,” he squeezes his lungs dry. It’s a simple, but purposely aching, creed by which we often must live. For better or worse, solitude can bring about the enlightenment we so desire.
“Easy” is the latest single from Poyer’s forthcoming new EP.
