We all have a person. Whether it’s platonic or romantic, there are relationships that equip you to be stronger and better, somehow filling any and all voids with replenishment. You never knew what was missing, but it was missing nonetheless. Americana singer-songwriter Zach Cornell decorates his new song “Next to Mine” with all the warmth his now-wife has inserted into his life. In reflecting back to the early days, he utilizes smokey, rustic imagery to paint a heart-mending photograph. “I feel your heart beating / Right here next to mine / Girl, I love the way you / Act like it ain’t no crime,” he muses. Classic instrumentation twinkles around him, and his intense vulnerability is just magnetic.
