We all have those hot ‘n steamy summer nights. They’re filled with romance and reckless abandon. And before you know it, they fade away as if they were nothing but an illusion. Time is funny that way. Formerly of AWOLNATION, musician David Amezcua slips into his new creative suit called ZIMINY to bask in the past’s rose-tinted viewfinder. With “Summer Nights,” he zips across the cosmos as he relives an especially memorable love-kissed entanglement. “Chasing the love is worth the shot / Please make it stop / And bless those summer nights,” he waxes nostalgic. There is a sticky velocity to his performance, as he drives the senses back into the past as a way to uncover whatever momentary heat he can find. “You’re breaking my heart with all you got,” he pleads.
“Summer Nights” is ZIMINY’s third solo release, on the heels of “Turn on the Light” and “She (Zoey Deutch).”
