The Singles Bar: Bad Business light it up with Oh He Dead-featuring ‘Turn It On’
The New York trio delight in sunny yacht-rock.
Welcome to The Singles Bar, a review series focused on new single and song releases.
This is your final warning. Let the smooth yacht-rock styling of Bad Business, a new trio of musicians out of New York, wash over you. They’re not trying to reinvent the wheel by any means, but through drawing upon such pioneers as The Allman Brothers and Steely Dan, they’re bringing the long-lost music art form back and serving it up hotter than the sun to a newer generation. “Turn It On,” featuring DC-based indie soul band Oh He Dead, is volcanic, erupting with sturdy classic soul, doused in meteoric saxophone and rambling percussion. It’ll send chills down your spine, if you know what we mean.
Little is known about this mysterious band of players, so we’ll just let the music do the talking.
