We all have that one love that’s burned onto our hearts. Whether it’s already faded just like the sun over the horizon, or still glows red hot, there’s a wistful feeling you can’t quite pin down. Folk singer-songwriter Bradley Arthur Maxwell filters out those emotions with a blissfully nostalgic new video. In collaboration with folk trio The Once, sweeping in with ghost-like harmonies, the visual is tinted with warmth from the early ’70s, and the footage is ripped from a now-distant time. As much hope envelopes the senses, there’s also a striking heaviness that soaks onto the screen and keeps the viewer’s feet stapled to the ground. “It’s no wonder why I am yours and you are mine,” Maxwell calls into the fog. He plucks ever heartstring with a calming wind that is quite affecting.
