Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

Conor Maynard‘s voice cuts to the bone. The pain soaks over vocal cords like pouring cement on porcelain. With “Storage,” his misery hangs thick, running hot and relentless. As he muses on a past relationship, every single memory, good and bad, floods back – and he struggles to cope with the cognitive overload. “I can’t seem to fall asleep inside my home ’cause all I see is you and me,” he wails over stunning piano. Contending with the past, while also treading water in the present, Maynard allows himself to feel every single pang coursing in his chest. And sometimes you just have to let the emotions be as they are if you have any hope of moving on.
