Taste Test: Dance Yourself Clean & Trenton wake up to relationship’s toxicity on ‘Upside Down’

Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstone
We’ve all got that one person who totally messes our head up — or twists our heart like overgrown vines. “You don’t deserve my love,” sings Trenton, his voice nestled amongst Dance Yourself Clean‘s bright production style. There is lace of darkness sliding like goo, just sinister enough to highlight in neon Trenton’s emotional baggage. “Upside Down” is a shock of electricity, so much so you can almost see his skeleton (so to speak). “Thought it was best to take a step / And open up my eyes,” Trenton realizes in that very moment exactly what’s been happening all along.
