The morning after carries with it nearly as much transformational material as the night itself. Whatever that means for you ⏤ perhaps a late-night rendezvous on the boardwalk or a star-gazing moment on a rooftop somewhere downtown ⏤ you can mine moments of your life, even down to the most mundane, for grains of insight. Synth-pop band Eden Warsaw awaken the senses like a cup of freshly-brewed Folgers with their new visual for “The Sunrise,” a heart-palpitating mid-tempo that opens on the sun’s gentle nudging. “I know you feel it when you’re breathing in,” frontman Mark David Polak sweeps his voice in fluid brushstrokes across an already-golden canvas. His muted rasp infuses his existential lyrics with incisive bite, yet his words also puncture the tension for blissful reprieve underscored with a truly soothing presentation.
“The Sunrise” is lifted from the band’s new album, Calm the Coast, out everywhere now.
