Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

A darkness slithers at their feet, much like the collection of serpents riding on shoulder blades or across a keyboard. Fake Shark‘s “Invincible,” which we called “dynamite stadium-crusher,” gets a visual component (directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska) to heighten the animalistic elements. “We keep coming back!” plays on their natural human instincts and the gutting urgency to forge an unlikely path. Shot in black and white, the clip also underscores their ferociousness onstage; each member radiates gnarly primal strength and bravado, commanding the screen in each frame. “You’re poison / You’ll be the death of me / After you, what’ll there be left of me…” the words are as shattering glass, exemplified in literal interpretations – from the cracked barrier to various other fragile items. It’s propulsive and unapologetic, just like we like.
