Welcome to Pop, Lock & Bops, a monthly playlist series documenting our favorite windswept country tunes, heartfelt tearjerkers and down-right intoxicating dirty-pop club bangers.

February was so brutally short, you probably missed it. The winter chill still hangs over our shoulders like a cloak, and while our mood swings are as feverish as ever, music is the consoling factor. Electronic troupe CHVRCHES made their long-awaited return with a glitchy ode called “Get Out,” while Rae Morris delivered the first truly great pop album of the year. Kate Nash‘s “Drink About You” is a sloshy toast of epic proportions; Pale Waves slide over you in true “Tidal Wave” fashion; and Chappell Roan burn into our skin with “Bitter,” which jump-starts our latest best-of edition.

B-Sides & Badlands takes a look at February’s meager 28 days to compile our favorite songs of the month, from airy folk music and the grittiest of the Americana circuit to club-floor bops, soul-infused, front-porch ditties and harder-hitting dive-bar tunes. In the playlist attached below, you’ll find such outstanding musicians as Zayde Wølf, Heather Brave, Amanda Brown, I Hate You Just Kidding, Madi Rindge, DON BRONCO, Courtney Marie Andrews, Oxymorrons, Ladychild, Ruby Boots, Alela Diane, Ships Have Sailed, Cherry Pools, Derrival, Kelsy Karter, Pentatonix, The Regrettes and countless others.

Writer Chris Will also contributed a chunk of irresistible tracks.
