Taste Test: Francois Klark keeps you in his heart, ‘Always’
The angelic storyteller offers up a new ASL video in conjunction with a brand new Netflix film.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
Francois Klark serves up delicacy like oysters on a silver platter. He could be an angel from heaven (we may never know), and his voice, especially within an acoustic setting, is so moving it’ll put you into a trance. His song “Always,” from his 2018 EP LOVE, is further accentuated with a beautifully simplistic new visual, one with modern dancing (starring Katie Hazard and Ian Chubb) and an ASL interpreter (named Sage Lovell). “Always in my mind / Always in my heart / Always the one that waits for me in my dreams, you are,” he chirps on the chorus, which seems to puncture even harder these days. “Always the one I long for / Always the one I feel by my side even though you’re gone / ‘Cause you are my always.” Klark displays raw elegance, charm, and insight in a way few can muster.
Klark’s “Always” backdrops a crucial scene in the brand new Netflix film, Feel the Beat, starring Sofia Carson.
