Taste Test: FrankK stirs up delicious ‘Cream’
Out of Stockholm, the pop newcomer rises as a phoenix with her new song.

Cathartic enlightenment from songwriting can not be understated. Swallowed by depression at the time, Stockholm pop juggernaut FrankK turned pen to paper to find her way out. The darkness soon collapsed and gave way into a pulsating tunnel of inspiration and new-found self-worth. And so, “Cream” was born out of such mental desperation, and the promising upstart set about crafting a trippy pop beat draped upon a nearly celestial vocal filtered through the stars and various other shape-shifting, glowing orbs. “Dreaming like I see in colors / I let it all go / I go over all bigger highs / Tell me all the reasons why,” she discharges as a rocket piercing the cosmic star-scape. Eventually, FrankK rises out of the chilly, throat-gripping stardust with a brand new coat of paint and a resilience so pure and intoxicating.
