Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.
Mickey Guyton is our ride or die. Since first hearing her god-given vocals five years ago, she’s been releasing should-have-been smashes after another. Radio sucks, we know this by now, but she holds her head high anywya. Her new single “Sister” is a piano-based mid-tempo about women embracing and supporting each other in the face of the patriarchy. “I know it’s hard being strong and not getting lost in a man’s world / It’s going to try to break you down, but you gotta not give a damn, girl,” she sings. Such a timely and empowering message is exactly what we and you, dear listeners, need to hear. Now, let’s get to changing the world, yeah?
Ireland-bred electro-pop man Dashoda arrives with his smooth-to-the-touch debut single. “In Between” is icy at first glance, the synths delicately wrapping with a flood of percussive elements. “How was I to know,” he cries before the production catapults into the atmosphere and casts a silvering, intoxicating emission. The blanket of stars then snuggle against his smokey tenor voice, one that’s towering and truly penetrating.
The latest and greatest playlist installment also includes Runaway June, Brandon Stansell, Whatever We Are, Boy Epic, Grand Am, Ben Hazlewood, Brittany Howard, Will Bennett & the Tells, Gwen Sebastian, Victoria Victoria, The Dryes, Gareth Inkster, A Great Big World and many more!
In all, we’ve got 30 new tracks to shock your system. Get to listening!
Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday morning/afternoon. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
