Prolific songwriter Emily Weisband has collected a smorgasbord of cuts with such mainstream titans as Keith Urban, Camila Cabello, Thomas Rhett and others. Now, armed with her debut single, she steps into the spotlight. “Identity Crisis” feathers with warm acoustics and delicate harp, gliding on a melody that lights up every one of the senses. Her voice is soft but commanding, and she ignites the lyrics with a sharp gleam in her eyes. “Holy shit, it’s heavy / Being in your 20s,” she heaves, the icy lyric juxtaposed against a heavenly, striking backdrop. Weisband is a force, and she proclaims her complete dominance atop the craggy mountaintops. We bow down.

Kelleigh Bannen charges ahead with her new single called “Deluxe.” As the title suggests, the singer-songwriter is a deluxe-sized talent that Nashville has ignored for far too long. It’s a real barn-burner, scorching Music Row in her wake, as she weaves in and out of pop-country and blues-doused bite. “Some things get better with time,” she sings, a smirk snarling from her lips. Ever since her “Famous” days, Bannen has has issued should-have-been smashes after another, and perhaps, 2019 is her time to light a match to a stagnant industry. We are not worthy!
