Freshly Squeezed, Vol. 119: Myylo, Misty River, Fly By Midnight & more
Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.
Indie-pop firestarter Myylo is positioned for big things. 2020 is gonna be his year, and that’s further evidenced with the JORDY-starring “Tuck Your Head Under the Covers.” It’s plaintive, playful and posh. Their voices dances around like the first rays of dawn, peeking between the curtains, and the golden cylinders are warm, yet sobering. “It breaks my heart that you’re broken” spills onto the opening line, configuring the muted pop-piece with a heavy starkness. It soon swells and expands to fill the entire cosmic room, and JORDY’s more bellowing tenor draws Myylo’s back down from the stars.
Misty River pluck and bawl on a new live performance song called “With You Around.” Lead vocalist Carmen Phelan has a particularly reedy timber, an acquired taste that carries a bedeviling charm that casts a spell over everything it touches. Alongside Adam Morley, the folk duo offer an unfussy standout performance with acoustics breezily tripping just behind them. “Paradise lost / Heaven’s found / It’s always been that way,” Phelan embraces the words as cherished gems newly-recovered. As elegant as it is earthy.
The new playlist includes Kesha, One Light, Fly by Midnight, SAYGRACE, Nina Nesbitt, PRETTYMUCH, Kyle Motsinger, JC Stewart, A Great Big World, Little Big Town, Killer Virgins, X Lovers, Echosmith and many more!
In all, we’ve got 30 new tracks to power your weekend ahead. Get to listening!
