Freshly Squeezed, Vol. 133: Kelsy Karter, Charles Fauna, Teddy Robb & more
Enjoy new songs from Jon Patrick Walker, Kip Moore, Jaida Dreyer, Great News, Ruston Kelly, and more!
Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.
Kelsy Karter crushes every single release. Her biting new song “Devil on My Shoulder” hypnotizes with dark-eyed guitar swirls, casting your formless soul into a musical Wonderful from which you’ll never escape. It’s still pop-punk glory, but Karter seasons in more macabre tones. Her vocal, too, feels sinister, faint whispers barely escaping gaping, fishy lungs. “You make me feel so good,” she coos before slipping into a trance. It’s punchy but not bratty. Dig it.
Recording music is like chiseling your name in stone. Jon Patrick Walker‘s “Blackwater Street” captures unrequited love, inspired by the streets of London, with crackling details. “She stole my heart / I’d sell my soul / Make her love me, make her mine,” he fantasizes. It slinks along the skin, and even if the narrator’s dreams never come to pass, he’ll at least have the thoughts lingering in his skull.
This week’s edition includes songs from Charles Fauna, Teddy Robb, Lemon & Rye, Kip Moore, Jaida Dreyer, Ruston Kelly, Great News, REYNA, and many others!
In all, we’ve got 25 new tracks to soothe your mind during these terrible pandemic times. Insert heart emoji.
Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday morning/afternoon. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
