With “Caroline,” quite a brittle performance, he begs a lover to meet his embrace, often feeling like a puppet on strings. “For your love, I’d tame the tide,” he quakes. “I’d rope the wind / And try and ride.” Harrison lassoes the listener into his storytelling, an overlooked master of perfectly broiled folk music.
