Oh em gee, we don’t deserve electro-pop artist AlexZone. With his debut EP, Pop Tart: Side A, pulsing with neon threads and synth-y lasers, he shoots for the stars and hits the bullseye dead-on. “Take This Too Far” is glitchy, spacey, and so damn addictive. “Please don’t break my heart tonight,” he pleads through a shimmering curtain of production. Exhilarating!
Marcus Connolly drags you kicking, screaming, and gasping for breath into a dark abyss of grungy alt-rock. “Sting!” floods the eyes with sharp, penetrating electric guitars, allowing his voice to pour like hot poison over the melody. It’s slinky, surprisingly sexual, and wonderfully relentless.
