Love songs aren’t always sickly sweet. Sometimes, as you’ll find with Inifinite Fade Out‘s “Fly Forever,” in which the musician attempts to make amends for past wrongs, it utilizes an angelic quality to counterbalance the emotional heft. “You were disappointed / I read it on your face / I’m sorry for my failures,” the Essex singer-songwriter weeps, shedding what he’s done like a snake in the mountains. “So, let’s take a trip together / I can try and make things right.” Two guitars melt together as one, frayed edges guiding his journey through confession to redemption, quickly sailing high and mighty among the clouds.
