Deep, rich faith is hard to come by in these trying times. The clouds snarl in delicately ominous swirls overhead, and we, a human race in desperate need of saving, scavenge for shards of truth. Texas Americana wanderer Jarod Grice extricates strands of hope out of biblical teachings for his solo debut single, “Signal,” which addresses his very flawed human form but soon ascends into a hopeful moon-shape. “I’m just a man,” he sings over and over, until his last breath that leaves you far wiser and more capable to accept his message. “I carry grace closer than an enemy,” he also observes, a heavy gloom caking his vocal cords into a steady tremble. He frames his redemption as a cross to bear, spotlighting his continued downfalls as his way to absolution amidst bone-cracking acoustic guitar.
“Signal” follow his continued work with local band The Company.
