Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

“Even my best wouldn’t have saved you,” sings Kisos over a skin-pricking guitar. “the hole you left” radiates deep-chested emotion, squeezing the heart until it explodes in a smattering of tissue and blood. The dying out of a relationship has left the kind of wound from which Kisos may not recover. That’s what his mind tells him, at least. “Every night I ache to wake up to your touch,” he continues. “But at the sunrise, realize you’ve left us.” Light percussion throbs in the arrangement, mimicking his crescendoing heartbeat. Its pitter-patter reminds him that he is still alive, despite it all. Pieces of his heart still aching on the floor, he wallows in the feeling. That’s the only way he can move on – by experiencing it all. It’s always darkest before the dawn, as they say.
