Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

There are moments in life that flash with bright exposure like a polaroid. We’re trapped inside a stark white framework, but the exhilaration of it bleeds over into the rest of life. Indie-pop duo Limón Limón capture that feeling, wading into their own surrealist emotions, with a song called “July in Sydney.” Combing djembe, congas, and steel drums, the song floats along a fluffy musical airstream, entrancing and wholly dream-like, as they grappling with the past and what is actually reality in this moment. “July in Sydney, I saw it in a dream” slips out as a faint, blissful whisper. It all soon washes away as a watercolor sprayed with a slight summer mist.
