Taste Test: Luna Keller takes ‘A Ray of Light’ in her hands
The indie-folk songwriter analyzes her overwhelming darkness to find the light again.

Social media makes us see only negative. Its competitive nature worms into the head and spills black goo into every aspect of our lives. And it could very well swallow us whole if we let it. Indie-folk storyteller Luna Keller admits as much with her new song, yet recovers the lingering shards of all the hope and goodness in her life. She pieces them back together on “A Ray of Light,” a richly acoustic-based song brimming with a voice of utter conviction. “Ain’t no love in your heart,” she confides. She quickly pulls you into her emptiness so you can feel her hurt, but by the end, she’s let it all slip from her shoulders. It’s cathartic, to say the least, but comforting in its raw honesty. “There’s a ray of light at every horizon / Somewhere deep inside the sun is rising.”
Keller eyes her new EP, called Prophecies and Silver Linings.
