Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

Mae Krell has a way about them. Their voice is like a songbird plopping outside the window, the morning air still growing warm, and they extend a beautiful moment a solace. “I’m trying, trying / To clean up this mess I’ve made,” Krell chirps. But their vocal isn’t chipper; rather it’s sullen and tired. With “wash,” they seek to uncover some sort of redemption, and in fully confessing their faults, they may just find it yet. Water gurgles in calming waves, as if they’re turning and twisting their fingertips in its refreshment.
