Percussion acts as a heartbeat. It throbs and pounds the chest bone. In his new song “Your Hand in Mine,” a delicate love song, singer-songwriter Martin Kerr cherishes the quiet moments with a lover. “I don’t count the days anymore / One breath at a time,” he sings. “We could lie forever on this floor / Cause I’ve got your hand in mine.” The arrangement is wonderfully sparse, almost translucent in its tone and quality. Less is most certainly more, as it possesses just as much power as a full-bodied production would. It’s a real stunner.
