Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

Written during the height of the Covid pandemic, My Sister, My Brother‘s eponymous new song stemmed from cloying feelings of isolation and loneliness. But there’s hope lining all the uncertainty and fear. “Let us break bread with each other,” sings bandmate Garrison Starr. It was like rays of sunshine peeking through dark, rumbling clouds amidst a torrential downpour. “Yes, let our stories flow like wine / You tell yours, and I’ll tell mine.” The song ebbs and flows from one soul to another, a fountain of joy and solace in troubling times. Even before the harmonic dips into the arrangement, there is such jubilance that it seeps into your heart. It’s that affecting.
