Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstone

The fork in the road offers boundless opportunity for adventure. Whatever choice we may make next, there’s a chance for growth and the unexpected. If a wrong turn results in failure, you’ll know you at least lived to tell a tale much larger than yourself. A voice greatly influenced by the likes of Townes Van Zandt and Buck Owens, Miami Americana gambler Nick County places his bets on making the wrong choice for the right reasons. That dichotomy is fused to the backbone of his new single “Racetrack,” which pulses from the thrill of it all as he zooms down the open road and off onto the horizon. “If I go right, there’s money to be making / And if I go left, it’s just me and you,” he dances between his options, electric guitar flaring up and shooting across the sky. His voice is one of tremendous two-ton weight, and while we may never know what decision he finally embraced, we know he had a wonderfully life-confirming time.

“Racetrack” anchors his new album, Cocorico Simpatico Corazón, expected August 14.
