Premiere: Pablo Parés’ ‘Pussycake’ gets psychedelic in new clip
Director Pablo Parés invites the viewer into a doozy ‘Motel Hell’ world.
In a new clip, director Pablo Parés invites the viewer into a psychedelic mind-fuck. It’s so punk-rock with a scrumptious Motel Hell treat tossed in for good measure. Argentinian film Pussycake, touted as “‘Evil Dead’ meets Josie and the Pussycats,” promises to deliver splatterfest fun for the whole family. Cinematography blends the smooth, colorful brushstrokes of Braid with the frantic, surreal bloodbath of Dead Alive.
On a script written by Maxi Ferzzola, the feature film follows an all-women rock band seeking desperately to rekindle their once-heralded popularity. The spotlight is just too tasty, but the group soon discovers that a deadly power beyond imagination may somehow be even worse than losing fans. The cast includes Aldana Ruberto, Sofia Rossi, Maca Suárez (The Accused), Anahi Politi (Crystal Eyes), and Flor Moreno (The Talking Guts).
Pussycake streams exclusively on Screambox beginning August 30 and will made available on VOD platforms through Cinedigm.
