Life begs for spontaneity. It’s hiking through the wilderness on a three-day weekend. It’s staying out a little too late until you see the sun peek over the horizon. It’s finally cracking open the spine of that book you’ve been meaning to read. It’s not taking life so serious. Swedish electro-pop carpenter Pawl, who has earned the eyes of The Chainsmokers on a previous single, takes such a belief truly to heart with his new song and soon-to-be summer banger “Waste My Time.” It’s a blissfully sweet potion of feeling the wind on your face and smiling just knowing you’ve survived to bask in another day, the light dancing around him as razor-sharp synths. “We won’t get any younger,” he promises, underlining the carpe diem-bent motto in bright red sharpie. Inhibitions falling away, and all you can do is pump that fist well into the bewitching midnight hours.
“Waste My Time” follows “2Face” from earlier this year.
