Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

The mysteries of the world swirl like the Milky Way in our brains. Late nights prompt us to shift through the ever-murky matter, as if we’re gold miners seeking gold in a nearby creek bed. But many things we’re just not meant to know just yet, if ever. The sheets thick with sweat, and unable to sleep, Nashville electro-pop star-gazer Elle Azar contends with her existential search through questions of her existence and the grander scheme of things, things that are inches out of her grasp. “Starry Night,” paired with a trance-like visual, sliced with extreme neons and jolting star patterns, both tries to answer her and soothe her aching, trouble-addled head. “Tossing, turning / Bridges burning / Nothing’s certain,” she mulls over. Her voice shoots as a falling star through the proverbial skyline, often distorted as flames slowly fading, but she soon determines that nothing can be figured out right now. And therein lies the startling beauty of our very complicated existence.
