Rebecca Lappa‘s “Your One” isn’t your typical love song. Whirling with luminescent synths and percussion, the singer-songwriter holds up a mirror, its reflection a reminder of what truly matters in a relationship. The connection between two people makes for a sturdy foundation on which all else is built. “I don’t want to be your one-in-a-million,” she sings. “I just want to be your one / I don’t want to be summed up to some girl.” With a pounding melody, “Your One” hypnotizes you and won’t let go. That’s a mark of a great song.
