Taste Test: Sam Way lives his truth on acoustic rendering of ‘Little Titan’
The folk storyteller shows great courage to live his life on a new song.

Think of life as an even more dangerously expansive labyrinth. We wind through weeded, overgrown and gnarly pathways to emerge from such grimness into our own light. Folksmith Sam Way renders his song “Little Titan” into an acoustic mirror, the framework still etched with his voice but it bares even more vulnerability. His guitar heaves and gives way into a vocal performance that drips both with misery and absolution, as Way himself takes up a heroic mantel to finally live his truths in all of its many shades and water-stained colors. “I see your everything / It’s how it is,” he sings. His voice is as as sculptor with clay, shaping into a beauteous and truly astounding marvel.
