Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

Shihori does not hold back in her latest single. Her track “Fire” is saturated with powerful drums, electronic drops, earth shattering bass, and strong chords that make a statement. Shihori’s song is inspired by resilience, and she brings lyrics to match. “Set me on fire/risen from the ash/keep kicking your ass” she declares. Born deaf in one ear, with dwarfism and with Asperger’s syndrome, this Japanese artist brings her own struggles and resilience to bear in this powerhouse of a song. Shihori says it best: “You may get beaten down, your heart may be broken, but you can rise back up and start again and again, as long as you are alive!”
