We undergo countless changes in this life, some of those abandonments by those we once held dear. A void emerges in someone’s place, and no manner of numbing agents can sooth it totally. “I’ve been waiting all night / And I’m feeling low,” mourns Olly Corpe, frontman of pop four-piece The King’s Parade. He troubles over an unsettling absence on a new song called “Brother,” a funky plea for their forlorn comrade to come back to the fold. Driving percussion shoves him forward, whether he’s ready or not to confront the truth that they probably won’t ever return.
