Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

Elle Graham (known onstage as Woodes) documents the burning out of a relationship. “Kingdom Come,” the titular cut from her new EP, begins as a plaintive ballad before erupting into an almost joyous occasion. “I just thought I’d be yours until kingdom come,” she sings on the song’s last verse. Piano fades as the setting sun, leaving her breathless and a bit world-weary. When the crumbling happened, she found herself aw-struck and in disbelief. And in writing such a personally-resonant song, she discovers catharsis and emerges with only scars to remember the event. She’ll never be the same.
