Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

Power in divvied out like rations in this world. A select few will forge unbelievable power for good and bad, and the rest will have to fend for themselves, like a flock of chickens pecking the soil. Musician Travis Atria (going by simply Atria for his new creative endeavor) dissects the interplay of religion and power with a new song called “Lucky,” a deceptively groovy little number. “You got to be lucky, baby,” he sings, turning his attention to the next generation (namely his niece and nephew). He imparts such wisdom with an icy cynicism, but it all stems from love. He simply doesn’t want their hearts broken over something that’s perhaps not literal to begin with.

“Lucky” samples Atria’s new record Moonbrain, expected later this year.
