Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

Kisos‘ catalog is full of sad bangers. The kind you put on, get drunk, and curl up on the bathroom floor with. Take “He Didn’t Want Me,” an acoustic-wrapped weeper, for instance: in its dynamic sonic layers, blurring between indie-pop and singer/songwriter, Kisos comes to terms with suffocating loneliness. “If he loved me, he would have shown me more,” he cries. In the brand new visual, a collaboration with cinematographer Adam Ouellette, the NYC musician holds a mournful seance as a way to work through his pain — eventually rising like a may queen (think “Midsommar”) and proclaiming his truth. His acceptance of grief is admirable, striking upon an emotional plane we rarely confront so forthrightly.
