Waves crashed and thrashed along the shorelines of several friendships. It gave him that terrible seasick feeling, even though his feet were firmly planted on solid ground. “Seasick on the Ground” sees singer-songwriter Dylan Dunn confronting those sea-worn friendships, those driven by ego that end with abrupt cruelty. “Conversations like a go-kart ride,” sings Dunn. His words teeter along, mimicking the very feeling of what it’s like being seasick. “Hear your voices, I can’t stand the sound,” he later admits. Guitar languidly flows, as a paper sailboat rushed away on a small current. And all Dunn can do is watch it go, go, go until it gets sucked down a sewer drain.
