What would you do for an extra slice of bacon? Well, Izzy Miller has your answer. With “Extra Bacon,” a front-porch hoe-down rockabilly tune, Miller tells the tale of an unlikely romance between a drifter and a roadside diner waitress. “We got to chattin’ and then to flirtin’,” Miller leans into the details. He looks down at his plate and notices “an extra slice” of bacon. And his heart does backflips. “It might kill me, but oh that don’t bug me,” he later admits. As its namesake suggests, the song is greasy, crisp with splendid taste and delightful crunch. They say the way to a man’s heart is his stomach — and that better include a heaping plate of fresh-fried bacon.
