Freshly Squeezed, Vol. 99: HOAX, Lillie Mae, Overstreet & more

Enjoy new songs from More Giraffes, Kailey Prior, Midland, V Blackburn, Mari Dangerfield and more!

Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.

Among our favorite 2018 discoveries, funk-pop shape-shifters HOAX creepy crawl into the eardrums with their new song called “Could,” a guitar thrashing sweetener. “We could be right / Or we could be wrong together,” Mike Raj and Frantz Cesar untangle life’s thorny brush, choosing to just be present in the there and now. It’s an endeavor with which we all certainly need to engage, but a tough one, nonetheless. The self-described “empathy pop” duo crease together past pangs and truths into a manifesto of gratitude, and as a result, they emerge as hopeful, vibrantly-laced butterflies soaring above the ruin and right into a sunny new day.

Seeking new creative freedom as White Elephant Orchestra, electronica conjurer Andy Stochansky scatters his creative charms with his lush, yet metallic, new song. “I thought I could let this go / But I’m standing here one more time,” he confronts on “Tremolo,” which cobbles Owl City with something far more melancholic and overwhelmingly grim. The sonic palette tip-toes between hopeful cheeriness and bedeviling darkness that creeps upon you when you least expect it. His artistic swerves are as freeing as they are entrapping, lassoing your earlobes into his sphere with a ravishing, colorful display.

The new playlist also contains entries from Taylor Swift, Lillie Mae, Skells, Ships Have Sailed, Overstreet, V Blackburn, Posh Hammer, Exnations, Kailey Prior, Mari Dangerfield, Chris DeVito, More Giraffes, Midland, COIN and countless more.

In all, we’ve got 30 new tracks to wake up your senses. Get to listening!

Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday morning/afternoon. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
