Ok, we seriously need to talk about Cameron Hawthorn for a second. Described (by us!) as the “swooning gay cowboy of the new wild, wild west,” the country grazer absolutely sizzles with his new song. “Oh Hot Damn!” is a satisfy stylistic swerve from the searing waltz ballad “Dancing in the Living Room,” while still clinging to a more classic polish. He shimmers across both songs, but it’s “Damn!” that pours on his potency in thick slathers, as the electric guitar shakes and rattles on the barroom floor. It’s a saucy little ditty that further cements his potential for superstardom. Are you in?
What could possibly be better than four of the baddest women in music coming together for a supergroup? The Highwomen is Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires, who make a helluva statement on their new Loretta Lynn-sized anthem. “Redesigning Women” celebrates the complexities of women and their story over the course of history, woven with traditional instruments and a swell of strings and guitars’ choral cries. “How do we do it? Make it up as we go along,” the chant in unison of their strength and unwavering spirit to soldier a world and system built against them. They lock hands together as a symbol of supporting one another, and we all should join in. Are you in (times two)?
Our brand new installment includes tracks from Miranda Lambert, Ashe, HeartMouth, Z. Smith, Charlie Burg, Kelleigh Bannen, Hannah Sumner, Rod Picott, Andrew Combs, Ryan Hurd and many others.
